But December saw the bubble burst with just one league win. Yet it is not just results which mean manager Enzo Maresca has come under increased pressure. With just one win in the past seven league matches, Chelsea are now closer to 15th place (seven points away) than third (nine points) in the Premier League table, a situation that has compounded to threaten Maresca's job. Chelsea next face Manchester City away without suspended key midfielder Moises Caicedo, to start a difficult month that also includes games against Arsenal and Napoli.
