Environment Canada issues two-day heat warning for Toronto


Environment Canada issued a heat warning Friday afternoon for the city of Toronto. “Maximum temperatures are expected to reach the low 30s Saturday and Sunday,” the weather agency stated. The agency recommends checking on older family, friends, and neighbours to make sure they are drinking plenty of water. According to Health Canada’s advice for extreme heat events, “the most important thing is to keep cool and stay hydrated. Symptoms of heat exhaustion can include dizziness or fainting, nausea, headaches, and extreme thirst.”The agency also recommends planning ahead to minimize negative effects of extreme heat.
