Entertainer admits attempting to dissuade indecent assault complainant from giving evidence


An entertainer has admitted attempting to get a man, who has accused a prominent businessman of indecent assault, to withdraw his complaint. The prominent businessman has denied two indecent assault charges and one of perverting the course of justice. He will go to trial next week alongside another man who is also charged with perverting the course of justice. He admitted attempting to dissuade a complainant by bribes or corrupt means, from giving evidence in the businessman's trial, by paying him $15,000 and promising future work opportunities. He also admitted another attempt of dissuading the complainant in Auckland and/or the Gold Coast by bribes or corrupt means.
