Situated on 15 cents, the two wooden structures are a window to the past when agriculture was the main occupation and wealth was measured in paddy and coconuts. The wooden structure has two rooms, all made of wood, with stout wooden doors and brass locks. The naalukettu, again adorned with a mukhappu, ornate charupadi and poomukham, has three rooms that open into the wooden verandah. What is remarkable is that unlike modern rooms, none of the rooms that open into the space outside has any windows. One has to walk around to the side of the house to enter the naalukettu and also access the rooms that open into the interior of the house.
