Ensuring the poor are set for new school term - Metro News

JOHOR BARU: Autistic pupil Mohd Syaiful Danish Arif was all smiles after receiving a set of school items from Yayasan Sayang Mutiara. The 10-year-old, who was also diagnosed with dyslexia, was among 115 pupils to receive school uniforms, shoes, bags and cash in the “Back to School” programme organised by the foundation. Mohd Syaiful’s 34-year-old mother, Zamzarina Bahari, said her son always showed strong interest in his studies despite his disabilities. The other 110 recipients were pupils from 19 primary schools located in Johor Baru. Foundation chairman, Datuk Ahmad Kemin, said the programme was first introduced in 2011 to help lessen the burden of less fortunate people.
