Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has given approval for the formulation of the new policy. Presiding over a high-level meeting on Saturday, Buzdar underscored the need to make Cooperative Department more effective and vibrant. The chief minister directed that strict legal action be taken immediately against persons who had occupied assets and properties of the Cooperatives Department. He said the cooperatives department should work in line with modern trends for the development of the agriculture sector and the department will have to discharge its responsibilities in an effective manner. The chief minister was briefed about the Cooperatives Department, Punjab Cooperative Bank and Punjab Liquidation Board.
