The prime minister tweeted that the team had ‘played their hearts out’ in a ‘fantastic performance’. He posted a picture of himself wearing a personalised England shirt with ‘Boris’ on the back as he made his way to the stadium earlier on. But the crowd went wild as Harry Kane knocked an extra-time penalty in the back of the net. England fans Scarlet Devereux and Lucy Millard, both 18, were elated as they came out of Wembley Stadium.
