England cricketers have been briefed on the safety of the coronavirus vaccine during their T20 tour of India as part of a campaign to encourage take-up. Fast bowlers Mark Wood and Chris Jordan, as well as all-rounder, Sam Curran, took part in an online question and answer session with England's deputy chief medical officer, Professor Jonathan Van-Tam, and the team's medical staff. As reported by Sportsmail this week, cricket is leading the way in ticket sales, with most of England's T20 internationals sold out after June 21. However, attendance will depend upon the rollout of the vaccine, lateral flow testing at events and maintaining low rates of serious illness. Chief Medical Officer at the England and Wales Cricket Board, Professor Nick Peirce, said: 'I'm proud of the way the England Cricket Community has adapted to adhere to the strict Covid guidelines and supported the NHS vaccine rollout however they can.
