Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown said Brewer’s accusation outside court leaves an “ethical cloud” over Thibeault, who is not facing charges. The lawyer representing former Wynne deputy chief of staff Patricia Sorbara, one of two accused in the Election Act bribery case, said he is weighing the Crown’s controversial statement. “The comments yesterday from the Crown prosecutor were pretty disappointing and hurtful,” the embattled energy minister said after the controversy dominated the Legislature’s daily question period.
