Energy network companies are angry about plans to limit what they can charge customers for gas and electricitySome of Britain’s biggest energy companies are expected to appeal to the competition watchdog this week to allow them to charge customers more for gas and electricity. Network owners including National Grid, SSE and ScottishPower have a deadline of Wednesday by which to appeal to the Competition and Markets Authority against plans to curb the returns they make at consumers’ expense. Analysts said that they expected some if not all the companies to appeal and industry sources told The Times that such a move was likely.
