Energy Commission unsatisfied with TNB's explanation for high electricity bills - Nation


PUTRAJAYA: The Energy Commission is unsatisfied with Tenaga Nasional Berhad's (TNB) response over complaints from consumers who say they have been slapped with higher-than-normal electricity bills. She said that TNB's explanation was that the issue was due to technical error, among others. Consumers have reportedly been slapped with electricity bills much higher than before, with many venting their grievances on social media. Yeo said the complaints were from consumers nationwide and not just those in Melaka, who were part of TNB's smart meter pilot project. On the smart meter issue, she said the Commission was also investigating what had gone wrong.
