Six years after first hearing complaints about its religious studies programme, an Auckland school has removed it from the curriculum. Religious lessons are off the timetable at Red Beach School, two years after a case against the school was dismissed by the Supreme Court. Jeff McClintock mounted the campaign against the north Auckland school after he said they placed his daughter, Violet, in religious classes without his permission. DAVID WHITE/STUFF Jeff McClintock and Lisa Reynolds withdrew their daughter from the school over the religious instruction programme. In the board's letter to parents, "increasing curriculum requirements" and new draft guidelines on religious instruction were cited as reasons for the decision.
