Started out in 1938, the VW Beetle, or originally called the “Volkswagen Type 1” was held to be the longest running production vehicle of all time. In fact, it even inspired the 2003 Filipino movie, “My First Romance”, which featured three separate love stories welded together by the same red VW Beetle. Also, let us not forget that the original Bumblebee from the Transformers cartoon, was a yellow VW Beetle (instead of a Chevy Camaro in the live-action movies). Unfortunately, and recently at its 80th year anniversary, Volkswagen formally announced that it will end its production of the Beetle. Indeed, as what happened before, we bid farewell to the VW Beetle that has stood the test of time and inspired pop-culture along the way.
