The result in Dubai means Thailand cannot finish in the top two of Group G of Asia's second qualifying stage. "In the first half, our team could not attack them but in the second half, we did quite well," said the Japanese. Thailand will end their Group G campaign with a meaningless game against Malaysia on June 15. The midfielder was a mainstay of the South Korean team when they took the world by surprise under Guus Hiddink at the 2002 World Cup, which the country co-hosted with Japan.
