End doctors strike, Kidero tells national government

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero on Wednesday faulted the government for failing to reach a deal with doctors to end their strike which has lasted over 50 days. Two weeks ago, Nairobi county issued showcause letters to the doctors and gave them a week to respond to the same or be sacked. None of the doctors have been sacked for taking part in the boycott that the Labour Court declared illegal. "We even have a court order stopping them from taking part in any strike," Kidero said, further appealing to mission hospitals to allow their staff to work in public hospitals. "With the spirit of sharing resources, we need to partner with them for intellectual and material resources," Kidero said.
