With streaming becoming a big deal in the country, Globe has partnered with entertainment companies to present a larger platform of content not just for creators but also for their fans — encouraging them to Love Local. Present at the Love Local launch were Globe’s President and CEO, Ernest Cu; head of One OTT at ABS-CBN, Elaine Uy-Casipit; iFlix co-founder and country manager, Sherwin Dela Cruz; and head of Globe Studios and director, Quark Henares. “We’re very passionate about local content — believing that local content receives a lot of views online and on apps,” said Cu. In addition to producing films, Globe Studios will hold the second Globe Independent Film Festival (.giff) to highlight short films that are made for online streaming.
