An $11.5-million lawsuit against former Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion has been thrown out of court after a judge ruled on a jurisdictional issue. Justice Arthur Spatt ruled on the different jurisdictions in the suit, which was filed in New York against Encarnacion, a native of the Dominican Republic. Spatt ruled the New York court has no jurisdiction and dismissed the lawsuit Wednesday. In dismissing the suit, the court also stated Lebron could not be conclusive about whether Encarnacion knew he had any diseases. In the suit, she stated that she confronted Encarnacion, who denied infecting her and contended she could have contracted the diseases in other ways, such as swimming in a river.
