Every worker has a right to form, join or participate in the activities and programmes of a trade union. Basically, a trade union fights for better working conditions and remuneration for its members. The employers have ignored these important components of labour relations, hence rendering the entire industrial relations system dysfunctional. This has greatly affected the labour relations system. Coercing trade union members into leaving the union constitutes a serious violation of Convention Nos 87 and 98.
