The UAE-based freight and logistics chain, Emirates Logistics, inaugurated, in the Tangier Automotive City free zone, a new logistics center. The UAE Minister of Economy stressed that this logistics center, in addition to its economic importance and investment, reflects the depth and strength of relations between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, especially between the leaders of the two countries. For his part, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljali, noted that the UAE investment project can improve the logistics offer in northern Morocco, create new employment opportunities and support economic competitiveness and export dynamism. The center covers an area of 14,500 m2 with a workforce of 100 people working in teams that keep the facility operating around the clock 7 days a week. Established in Morocco in 2016, the Emirates Logistics Corporation – a branch of the Emirates International Group Sharaf – employs more than 350 people, manages 47,600 m2 of storage spread over 5 logistics centers and operates a fleet of 32 trucks.
