Indiana University swimmer Emily Weiss, who broke Lilly King’s teenage breaststroke records and became a world junior champion, has retired from the sport at age 20. She won a gold medal in the 50-meter breaststroke in the under-18 World Junior Championships at Indianapolis in 2017. “With the help from the medical staff here at IU, I have made the decision to medically retire,” she posted. As a sophomore, she broke King’s state record in the 100-yard breaststroke, and then she lowered that to 58.40 seconds the next year.
