David Mearns, a renowned shipwreck hunter launched a Morven survey vessel at around 7am on Sunday morning and discovered the aircraft on the seabed of the English Channel. (Image: PA)UK Air Accident Investigation Branch later launched an official search alongside a second, private underwater search lead by Mearns. After the plane was found, Mearns added on Twitter: "Wreckage of the plane carrying Emiliano Sala and piloted by David Ibbotson was located early this morning by the FPV MORVEN. "The families of Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson have been notified by Police. Tonight our sole thoughts are with the families and friends of Emiliano and David."
