The Fire Service and Civil Defence are on the ground and have linked in with residents, informing them of the provisions in place. “The N11 northbound lane at Kilmacanogue has been severely impacted and the maintenance contractor (Globalvia Jons) has crews on site dealing with the situation. “Emergency services have responded to areas where flooding of properties and dwellings has had a high impact. Earlier today, major flooding across east and south Wicklow brought drivers to a standstill on the county’s busiest road, the N11, with multiple roads, schools and businesses forced to close as Storm Chandra continues to batter the country. Drivers in north Wicklow are still encountering huge backlogs after horrendous conditions on the N11, particularly northbound, which became impassable at Kilmacanogue shortly after 9am this morning.
