In a span of just eight months, 1,104 cases of violation have been reported, raising concerns among government officials and other stakeholders. According to the region's Coordinator of Child Services, Davelyne Mundi, 552 of the cases reported involved child neglect. This is tantamount to violation of child rights,'" he said on Wednesday during the launch of the Embu Child Protection Network. The chief magistrate also noted that cases of defilement of very young children were prevalent in the region.
