Embattled Nyandarua speaker granted access to office

A court has granted besieged Nyandarua county assembly speaker Ndegwa Wahome access to the assembly premises. MCAs had locked out the speaker, who is chairman of the County Assemblies Forum, from the premises after he was reinstated by the courts following his impeachment. The court has further warned assembly officials - Zachary Mwangi, Edinald Wambugu, Elizabeth Muthui, John Kamuria, and Benson Leparmorijo - against blocking the speaker from accessing the assembly and his office. The courts said the items be handed over to the speaker or the Nyandarua assembly clerk Gideon Mukiri. The judge further directed the police and Nyandarua county commissioner to ensure the assembly precincts are accessible to the speaker.
