The majority of its users are people in the gaming community, however, some servers are used for other purposes including sports betting and stock trading. Cheap trading app Robinhood, which is favored by the WallStreetBet members, halted new purchases of GameStop stock on Thursday. The top securities regulator in Massachusetts believes trading in GameStop stock suggests there is something 'systemically wrong' with the options trading around the stock.
