Filipino duathletes gear up for a chance to slug it out with the best in the sport as they seek top honors in the 2017 ASTC Powerman Philippines Asian Championships Presented by Summit Drinking Water on Oct. 8 at Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. The organizing F&B International Events Group said the upcoming event will serve as a qualifier for the Powerman World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland. “The driving force behind this year’s event is to bring the Filipino duathlete to the world stage. It’s all about investing in their potential with the ultimate goal of sending our top duathletes to the 2019 Powerman World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland,” said Powerman Philippines general manager and coach Kaye Lopez. Events on tap are the premier Powerman Classic (10km run, 60km bike and 10km run), the Powerman Short (5km run, 30km bike and 5km run) and the Powerteens set on smooth, wide roads of Clark with the course offering scenic views of SCTEx.
