The BFD faces challenges as it shares forest borders with Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district and Odisha’s Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur and Rourkela forest divisions. Rourkela Forest Division (RFD) has experienced a visible drop in human deaths in elephant depredation incidents this year.
