Deji LamboA yet-to-be-identified driver escaped death by a whisker on Wednesday when an electric pole and wire belonging to the Ikeja Electric fell on his vehicle on Igbasan Street in the Opebi area of Lagos State. PUNCH Metro gathered from residents, who were shocked by the incident, that there was power supply when the pole fell on the vehicle. The driver’s side door was left wide open, which might be an indication that the motorist abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. There is no casualty and we have cut off power supply to the area; our men are working on erecting a new pole. From what I saw, it is a concrete pole; so, we are investigating to know what went wrong.”Copyright PUNCH.
