Your correspondent goes on to say “the electorate must now act in self-defence” by voting in a way that would bring Sinn Féin into government after the election of taoiseach process had been altered to facilitate that objective. The Tory government in the UK dangled the bait of restored grants and borrowing in front of Sinn Féin — and it swallowed it. Does Sinn Féin perhaps feel a need to prolong this housing crisis until the next election? Their “three-week public consultation process” stands in sharp contrast with when they installed the seafront cycle lanes for a “trial period” during the first Covid lockdown — without any consultation at all. We have the best land in Ireland, and the best stud farm in the whole world (Coolmore in Fethard).
