The seven-member Supreme Court panel hearing the 2020 presidential election petition has fixed Thursday, March 4, 2021 to deliver its verdict. The case was brought to the court by the 2020 Presidential Candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama. At a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, CFI and IDEG said it recognises the fact that a verdict of such magnitude will most likely cause disappointment and indignation for some, whiles it will also cause celebration and jubilation for others. Again, the CFI called on the security agencies, the media as well as the citizenry to commit to ensuring peace after the verdict is declared.
