Ahead of the February 16, Presidential election, the Maize Farmers Association of Nigeria (MAAN) have thrown their weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari as their candidate for the election. The National President of MAAN, Alhaji Bello Abubakar who disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja, said that Maize Production has increased under President Buhari from 15 million MT to 20 million MT. He, however, said that MAAN would deliver 5 million votes for Buhari’s re-election this month. According to Alhaji Abubakar, “from the year 2015 to 2018, MAAN has increased from 1.2 million to 5 million members across the country. “Permit me to give you good news, that the maize production has increased from 15 million metric tons in 2015 to 20 million metric tons in 2018.
