The exchange happened while Mr Harris was canvassing in Co Cork on Friday evening. Speaking to reporters in Dublin Mr Harris said: “I called Charlotte this morning as she was absolutely owed an apology from me. Charlotte Fallon, who works in the disability sector, told Mr Harris that his party was ignoring the disability sector. Simon Harris has apologised after his encounter with a carer in Kanturk admitting that he should have spent more time engaging with her.
