National's incumbent Whangārei MP Shane Reti watches the election night results come through with this supporters at the Whangārei Club. But in the North two of the three electorates have been left with uncertainty, with the vote too close to declare a winner on the night in the Northland and Whangārei electorates. Northland candidate Willow-Jean Prime and Whangarei candidate Emily Henderson in Whangārei. Reti won the seat in the 2017 election by 10,967 votes over Labour candidate Tony Savage. Te Tai Tokerau's Maori Party candidate Manameno Kapa-Kingi and her son Eru Kapa-Kingi.
