Election 2020: Close race in Tāmaki Makaurau electorate, poll reveals

It’s looking like a tight finish in the race to represent Tāmaki Makaurau in the Māori electorate, a poll has revealed. Just six points behind Henare sits Māori Party co-leader John Tamihere on 29 per cent, and Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson has polled in at 14 per cent. Supplied Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson (top left), Māori Party co-leader John Tamihere (bottom left), and Labour's Peeni Henare (right) faced off in Sunday night's debate. The Waiariki electorate shows a close fight with incumbent Tāmati Coffey 12 per cent ahead of Māori Party candidate Rawiri Waititi. The Tāmaki Makaurau voters who took part in the poll rated the economy, policies and Covid-19 as their top election issues.
