An elderly female pedestrian was struck and killed by a C-Train at the intersection of 39th Avenue and 36th Street N.E. The woman was declared dead at the scene. Police said in a release that no further details about the victim or the cause of the collision are yet available. C-Train service between the Whitehorn and McKnight stations was disrupted for about two hours while crews worked at the scene. Roads that were closed near the incident have since reopened.
