Elderly man becomes fourth virus patient to die in HK

Hong Kong has reported the fourth death from the new coronavirus, an 80-year-old man who had resided in Maylun Building in North Point, where there were multiple infections linked to a Buddhist worship hall. The Hospital Authority says the elderly man passed away at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in Chai Wan. RTHK reports that the elderly man, who already had health problems, was being treated in Eastern Hospital after he was diagnosed with the virus on February 26. The previous fatalities linked to the virus in Hong Kong involved a 39-year-old man who had visited Wuhan in January, a 70-year-old man believed to have been infected locally, and a 76-year-old woman who was also believed to have caught the virus while in Hong Kong. The SAR has so far reported 131 confirmed infections of the new coronavirus and one probable case.
