Former captain Ravi Shastri was on Tuesday named as the head coach of the Indian team. Meanwhile Zaheer Khan has been named bowling coach and Rahul Dravid has been appointed batting coach for overseas tours. After a full-fledged Sri Lanka tour, India will host Australia in a limited-overs series in October. Under Shastri, India bounced back from a defeat to beat Sri Lanka 2-1 in their backyard in a three-match Test series which was also Kumar Sangakkara's farewell series. India then defeated Sri Lanka 2-1 in a three-match T20 series before lifting the Asia Cup in Bangladesh remaining unbeaten in the multi-nation tournament.
