MELAKA: Melaka’s new coach, E. Elavarasan, admits that he is very worried about his two foreign imports who are injured as they prepare to take on Perak in an away game this Saturday. Belarusian forward Yahor Zubovich, 28, and 32-year-old Portuguese central midfielder Thiago Gomes picked up injuries after playing in the game against PKNS last, and the duo will most likely not be able to play against Perak. Therefore, Elevarasan, 53, is making preparations for the team to face their opponents this weekend without the influential duo, which in turn gives a chance to the team’s local fringe players to impress him in staking a claim for places in the first team. Elavarasan who used to turn out for Selangor during his playing days, just took over the reigns from 40-year-old Portuguese Eduardo Almeida, said that for the time being he will find a way to utilise all of the team’s players that are at his disposal. "Perak are a very formidable team, and they are currently in second place in the Super League standings, though this is not a deterrent for our players in trying to get the better of them come Saturday,” Elavarasan pointed out.
