Ekiti PDP, govt disagree over killing of hunter


Abiodun Nejo, Ado EkitiThe Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State on Thursday condemned the killing by suspected herdsmen on Friday night of a hunter and farmer, Mr Emmanuel Ilori, at Orin Ekiti in the Ido/Osi Council Area of Ekiti State, describing it as a big blow to Ekiti State and the community. PDP State Chairman, Chief Gboyega Oguntuwase and a former PDP governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, described the killing as wicked and dangerous in a state that had been enjoying peace before the advent of the present All Progressives Congress government in the state. The PDP leaders, who spoke at Orin Ekiti during a condolence visit to the community, said Nigeria was gradually sliding into anarchy as many communities would now have to hold their destiny to confront the rampaging herdsmen activities. Olusola said, “During the last government of Governor Ayo Fayose there were working policies designed that had halted situations that could bring about dangerous invasion of these killers herdsmen into the state.
