Eight policemen among 13 nabbed in MACC sting operation - Nation


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has arrested enforcement officers from various agencies in Selangor in a special operation. Those arrested included two police inspectors, six policemen, four firemen and an officer with the Kajang Municipal Council. The suspects are believed to have received bribes of between RM300 and RM10,000 for each massage parlour "supervised" by the law enforcement officers. MACC director of investigations Datuk Simi Abdul Ghani confirmed the arrests and said the case is being investigated under Section 17(a) and Section 16(a) and (b) of the MACC Act. He said the suspects are expected to be brought to court in Shah Alam for remand on Tuesday.
