Eight million people use drugs across Pakistan, says minister


This he said while addressing as a chief guest at Bhittaiabad at a ceremony on how to save a new generation from using drugs, organized by Nai Zindagi Trust, a welfare organization today. Administrator Nai Zindagi and Dr Ayaz Soomoro briefed the minister about working and performance of his Trust. The minister said according to a survey, eight million people use drugs across the country, and unfortunately mostly are young men, that’s an alarming situation. He was of the opinion that without the participation of civil society members, especially teachers, parents, and other stakeholders, we cannot make the society free of drugs. “We have to keep our new generation away from drugs and if we’re successful we can make rapid progress,” he concluded.
