The Russian Olympic Committee said its was officially informed by the International Olympic Committee that eight A samples of Russian athletes from three different sports tested positive in the repeated inspection. Though some Russian officials claim that the recent round of antidoping examination is just Western propaganda, Moscow seems to prepare for worse. The second admission in a month that Russian athletes could have used illegal substances raises uncertainty about Russia’s participation in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August. Moscow announced earlier this week that 14 of its athletes from Beijing, including several medal winners, were among those who tested positive.
