On the Eid day that year, four people were killed in a militant attack on a police check post at Sholakia Eid prayers ground in Kishoreganj just before the congregation. The prime minister called for the support of everyone in creating a developed and prosperous Bangladesh. More than a hundred villages across Bangladesh celebrated Eid on Sunday in keeping with a tradition of commemorating all religious festivals with Saudi Arabia. On the occasion of the Eid, special menus were served at state-run hospitals, children’s homes, shelters, safe homes and jails. Bangladesh Betar, Bangladesh Television and other private TV and radio stations are broadcasting special programmes.
