Noted public intellectual Ehsanullah Ehsan has declined an invitation by the prime minister to become a member of the upcoming Economic Security Council. “Though I am flattered to even be thought of, I would like to excuse myself,” Ehsan said, speaking to reporters over the phone from an undisclosed location. “I might not be a good fit there.”“This is more of [Dr Hafeez] Shaikh’s baby and I don’t want to step on his toes,” he said. “I myself am partial to Neo-Keynesian approaches to the macroeconomy while he’s more of a Neoclassical man.”“Nothing against the fellow, though,” he said.
