Egypt's president allocates LE600M to carrying out surgeries for patients on waiting lists


The president instructed developing a financial system that would improve the income of doctors and improve their working conditions, especially those with rare specializations and others operating in remote areas. The president was briefed on the status of COVID-19 nationwide as well as that of the vaccination rate. The number of patients on those lists, who have undergone surgeries within such initiative since 2018, is 1.2 million at a total cost of LE 11.6 billion. The president also stressed the salience of continuing to offer free of charge screening for hepatitis C and treatment to patients.
