CAIRO – 14 February 2021: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry discussed with his Tunisian counterpart Othman Jerandi ways of bolstering bilateral relations and activating existing joint cooperation frameworks as soon as possible. Both ministers affirmed the necessity of going on with Arab efforts aimed at reaching a fair and permanent settlement of the Palestinian Cause. They also agreed on intensifying efforts to end the Libyan crisis in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the Libyan people. In a similar context, the Egyptian and Tunisian foreign ministers stipulated the importance of continuous consultation and coordination between both sides over regional and international affairs of mutual interest. Further, Minister Shokry congratulated Jerandi over the successful Tunisian presidency of the UN Security Council in January.
