Shoukry spoke in a panel discussion on regional security in North-East Africa during the 56th MSC meeting, pointing at developmental difficulties, the negative impact of climate change and illegal migration, and other challenges the region faces. Such approach includes renewing religious discourse and the necessity to combat the funding of terrorist groups and hold states that support terrorism accountable, Shoukry said. Shoukry affirmed the necessity of regional states adopting a more effective strategy to manage its natural resources optimally in light of both the scarcity of the resources and population increase. Shoukry is in Germany to participate in the MSC meeting, which focuses on the future of the European Union (EU) and key challenges and crises in the regional and international arenas.
