CAIRO – 20 February 2021: Egypt’s Evangelical Church officially resumed public masses and daily prayers in churches across the country after being suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak, the church's head Andrea Zaki announced Friday. The decision was taken during Zaki's meeting with members of the General Evangelical Council to review the latest pandemic developments, the church said in a statement. The Health Ministry said Friday that 610 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 176,943. Late in January, Egypt received 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the second batch to be delivered to the country after the China’s Sinopharm batch in December. Speaking before the House of Representatives in February, Zayed said that Egypt received on that day the third batch of the Chinese vaccine.
