CAIRO - 8 December 2021: The Egyptian Furniture Export Council announced that the sector's exports during the first 10 months of 2021 increased by about 10 percent to reach $212.1 million, compared to $192.53 million during the same period in 2020. The Council added in a report, Wednesday, that the sector’s exports decreased during the month of October by about 28 percent, to record $21.169 million, compared to $29.23 million in October 2020. The report explained that Egypt's furniture exports to Iraq decreased during the first 10 months of 2021 by 4.5 percent to reach about $21 million, compared to $22 million during the same period of 2020. The Sultanate of Oman ranked fifth in terms of countries importing Egyptian furniture, with a value of $16 million, followed by Sudan with $14 million, compared to $12 million, with a growth of 16.7 percent. Egyptian furniture exports to "the rest of the world" increased to $45 million, compared to $33 million, marking an increase of 36.4 percent.
