Egypt wins the Squash World Champion title, Courtesy of Squash MWT 2017 - WSF Men's World Team Championship Marseille 2017 official page on FacebookCAIRO – 3 December 2017: The Egyptian squash team won the World Squash Championship title after defeating their English counterpart 2-0 in the final round of the tournament in Marseille, France.National Squash team player Karim Abdel-Gawad defeated the English player Nick Mathieu 3-0 (11-9, 11-3, 11-7) – the game lasted for 34 minutes.Then, Ali Farag, national team player, defeated the English player James Willestrup 3-0 (11-5, 11-9, 11-5) – The game lasted for 37 minutes.The Egyptian team won the title after beating Pakistan and Switzerland in the first round, Finland in the 16th round and Scotland in the quarter-finals of the tournament and Hong Kong in the semi-final before defeating England, holder of the title.The national team won the title for the fourth time in its history after having achieved three times by the years 1999, 2009 and 2011, while losing the last title of 2013 crowned by the English team.The World Squash Championship is being held every 2 years.
